Pharmacists Manitoba is all about you, our members, and providing resources to help you adapt to ever-changing practice while continuing to advocate on your behalf.
Over the past year, Pharmacists Manitoba has worked towards goals and priorities outlined in the Strategic Plan for 2023 – 2026. This includes the following accomplishments, to name a few:
- Increasing the flu shot compensation from $7 to $13;
- Successfully advocating for the coverage of nutritional formula under NIHB and a new tiered model for dispensing under NIHB, the first ever in Canada; and
- Productively engaging political parties during the 2023 Manitoba Provincial Election, as well as establishing a strong relationship with our new Minister of Health, Seniors and Long-term Care.
Together, we have the opportunity to make a profound impact on the landscape of pharmacy practice and healthcare accessibility in our community. Here’s a glimpse of what we aim to achieve, and why your participation and support are crucial:
- Drive measurable outcomes through engagement in the SIB Program demonstrating the effectiveness of pharmacist-led interventions in smoking cessation.
- Collaboration with CPhM and Government on Regulatory Modernization
- Exploration of Pharmacy Access to Care (PAC) Sites
- Support the Launch of HIV Universal Drug Coverage Program
As we embark on these ambitious endeavors, we urge you to join us and drive positive change. Your active involvement, contributions, and advocacy are indispensable in shaping the future of pharmacy practice in Manitoba. We look forward to our continued collaboration and the great strides we will undoubtedly achieve together.
